In winter, I need comfort, warmth… And I love water! So I particularly like thermal baths, or balneotherapy areas. The heat of the water relaxes me, both mentally and physically. Generally speaking, hot water is relaxingIt soothes the nervous system, regulates sleep disorders, relaxes muscular tension, facilitates digestion and intestinal transit.
The framework of the spa area of the Ribeauvillé casino East very nice. I am thinking in particular of the outdoor pool, the vegetation, the landscape (hills, castle), the small mosaic tiles in the indoor pool... Compared to German thermal baths, I prefer this space for its multitude of jets and whirlpool baths. On the other hand, we do not find the health aspect thermal water. The water is chlorinated, so I don't recommend staying there for hours to protect your skin.
The space also offers a " pool of silence » overflowing, where music is played underwater. When you let yourself float to the surface, you are transported to another world.
The space also has a spa: hammam and sauna. Did you know? Heat causes a centrifugal reaction, in other words a reaction from the center outwards. (1) : overloaded toxins* migrate to the periphery and exit. The waste is then evacuated by the skin glands. There are 2 types: sebaceous glands, responsible for the synthesis and secretion of sebum and sweat glands which produce sweat and thermoregulate the body. The sauna activates the sweat glands, while the hammam takes care of the sebaceous glands. They are therefore complementary.
Attention, staying in hot water for too long is bad for blood circulation and the cardiovascular system.
Contraindications: cardiovascular pathologies, varicose veins and edema, acute hemorrhoidal crisis, pregnancy.

For me, reading is one of those little things that soothe me and give me the feeling of feed my soul. Every night, once I'm in bed, I set myself the goal of reading at least 2 pages. It's part of my rituals. I read mainly novels. They really allow me of escape. I borrow them mostly from the media library. It must be said that my library is mainly made up of books on the theme of health. Since I did my naturopathy training, I have significantly increased my collection. In the evening, I need to cut with this universe and I like to slip alongside fictional characters.
The Love Songs of Wood Place by Honorée Fanonne Jeffers has been winner National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction. It is also one of the ten best books of the year for the New York Times. The novel was therefore translated into French and I was challenged by a few spelling mistakes, French language purists please refrain!
The book tells the story of an African-American family, from slavery to today. It made me live the emotional roller coaster. I loved it for its universe, for its “learning” and historical side, which tells us about life on a cotton plantation, but also for the freshness of the main character, Ailey, a very inspiring young feminist woman. It also details all trauma linked to this period: the supremacy of the white man, the rape of black girls, the markets where slaves were sold, the distress, but also resilience and courage incredible men.
Alert! It's almost 900 pages ! I had to extend my loan at the media library twice. In short, it took me 3 months to read it, a few pages every evening 😊
Happy reading!
