My favorite books and podcasts

The books I am going to tell you about are those that have resonated deeply with me, that I have kept, given as gifts and recommended…

A must-read: The Four Toltec Agreements

Following an injury, this book was recommended to me by a former dance teacher. I must have been 21, he had sent me the summary of The Four Agreements by text message. At first, I wondered what he was referring to, and I understood a little later… This book enlightened me a lot and allowed me to free myself from some of my beliefs.

“Let your word be impeccable

Whatever happens, don't make it personal.

Don't make assumptions

Always do your best”

You can also find it in the form of “ card game », a message to draw every day to question yourself and continue to grow (also a great gift idea by the way 😊)

The Key to Your Energy and Finding My Place by Natacha Calestrémé

These books are very powerful, they give concrete protocols to free yourself from toxic relationships, repetitive patterns... I recommend them to you at 300 %!

I discovered Natacha Calestrémé around the first lockdown and she has gained a lot of notoriety since then. If you had to choose between the 2 books, I would recommend the second volume, "Finding my place", a very complete summary of The key to your energy.

You can listen to the interviews of Natacha Calestrémé on the microphone of Anne Ghesquière in the podcast Métamorphose

Jonathan Lehmann's cheat sheets to happiness

Here too, a simplicity of writing that makes the book easy to read. I recommend it for all people who are starting their personal development journey. It provides simple keys to implement to better manage your emotions. And then, I like the author, I listened to many of his interviews, he is friendly, simple and funny. He has also done three Vipassana retreats, a unique meditation experience! To read his testimony, it's over here.

Jonathan also wrote: Diary of a Happiness Tourist ", light but full of teaching. And then his last work " Diary of a Shamanic Traveler " He is also the founder of the application of 7 Mind meditation.

Summary of Happiness Cheat Sheets:

I meditate – I prioritize joy over pleasure – I practice gratitude – I take out the mental trash – I give myself love – I stop waiting – I seek the balance between being and becoming – I listen to receive rather than to respond – I do one thing at a time – negativity is a form of suffering and I respond to it with compassion – I face my fears to make life magical.

Imperfect, free and happy, practices of self-esteem by Christophe André

I won't hide it from you, it's a big book, which requires you to hang on... But there are so many passages that resonated with me, I suggest I share a few of them with you:

"Good self-esteem also acts as an emotional thermostat and helps to modulate the impact of negative emotions, not letting them take up too much space or become generalized."

“Remember that we ourselves produce a large part of our suffering”

“Make a clear distinction between what is happening (the facts) and what I think about it (my interpretation)”

“To live is to act, to discover oneself, to reveal oneself, to take risks… To let oneself go, to let go without wanting to control and master one's image at all times.”

Summary :

"This book will help you move forward on the path to self-esteem. To build it, repair it, protect it. It will help you accept and love yourself, even if imperfect. Not to resign yourself, but to evolve better.

I suggest you listen to a very interesting interview with Christophe André: “ Become a happiness hunter ".

“Leave yourselves alone and start living!” by Fabrice Midal

What do you think about starting to let go? This book is liberating, I devoured it! Plus it's easy to read, it's not very long...

Just before, I had listened to a conference by Fabrice Midal on Youtube which did me a lot of good, to listen to again as often as necessary.

Book Summary:

Stop obeying: you are intelligent!

Stop being calm: be at peace

Stop trying to be perfect: embrace the elements

Stop rationalizing, let it happen.

Stop comparing yourself: be yourself

Stop being ashamed of yourself: be vulnerable

Stop torturing yourself: become your own best friend

Stop trying to love yourself: be kind
